OBL The Game FAQ
What types of shots are affected by the B.E.E.F. ability?
The B.E.E.F. ability increases all shooting stats by 2 when active.
What types of shots are affected by the Flyswatter ability?
The Flyswatter ability increases all shot defending stats by 3 when active.
Why can't I look up defensive stats?
To look up defensive stats just look up the corresponding offensive stat. (To look up Block look up Layup)
Why can't I use the dunk action?
Kip M and Ryan L are the only two players who can dunk. If you are using them dribble into a layup to activate their Slam Dunk ability.
No the Game Stats and Player Look-Ups only show the player's base stats. They don't reflect any abilities or in-game stat changes.
Why can't I switch my players/positions?
You can only switch your players or positions when the green "Can Sub" indicator pops up. You will not be able to sub if it is not your offensive possession, you have already typed in an action, or it isn't a break like halftime.
Why can't I use some players in some years?
You can only use players that were in the league the year you are using. So if a player hadn't joined the league yet, retired, or took a year off, you will not be able to use them in that year.
Do the Grudge and Dynamic Duo ability only work against the indicated player?
No, as long as the indicated player is on the court (Works if it is on your team or the other) the ability will work against any player.
What is the difference between a primary and secondary position?
There is no difference between primary and secondary positions. Everyone has a primary position, but not every player has a secondary position.
Why do I get an error before typing in a defensive position?
Because you must select a defensive position sometimes this is perceived as an error.
Why can't I type in certain spots?
If you can't type somewhere you shouldn't be typing there. Either it is part of the game that shouldn't be changed, or you are trying to do something before you are able to.
How is it decided who wins an action?
It is decided by the higher number between the offense's stat and the defense's stat plus the roll of two six sided dice. You can see the probability of each roll on the right. If there is a tie then the winner is decided at random.
Why is the court layed out the way it is?
The court is set up so that you only see the players you need to see when you need to see them. The home team is always on top and the away team is always on the bottom. While both teams can sub (Like before you start the game) you will be able to see both your player and the other teams player in their position, but during normal game play you will only see the active player. The positions for offense and defense never change on the court so if you want to switch where a player is, you need to do so by changing their position in the scoreboard area.
Why can't I upgrade passes to certain positions?
You don't need to. When you upgrade your overall pass stat it upgrades passes to all positions. So you will never have a pass to one position be better than a pass to another position. (Unless you have an ability that effects this)
Why aren't I/another player showing up on the season league leaders board?
The season league leaders is for the leaders in each category in an entire season not the current season. So for example it is unlikely anyone in season 2 will break a season 1 record until near the end of the season because it is for the full first season.
Why is my game running slow?
Because there is so much going on it can be hard for Excel to handle all of it sometimes. Some of this can't be prevented, but saving your file and closing it out then re-opening it can help fix some issues.
